First off, please accept our apologies for the delays with version 2.0, its really frustrating for all concerned especially us!
Excuses!
v2.0 is proving much more difficult to roll out than we ever though, so much so that we have decided to employ the services of an expert who will help us write some scripts to automate a lot of the problematic operations.
What does this mean for the release date?
As we are already nearly a month late, it seems a little inappropriate to make further promises about release dates, therefor we are going to aim to do the release in several steps, each step will include a piece of the v2.0 puzzle until the release is complete.
It will take some development effort to split the release up like this however i would expect to see that done this week, after that we will aim for 3 individual releases over 3 weekend with the final one representing a complete install of v2.0. Based on this we are looking at an end of april release.
I will keep you informed via this blog about our progress.
The Code Spaces version 2.0 release has been delayed again for two reasons:
I/we can only apologies for the delay, as I know many of you are keen to use the new features.
The new release date is Sunday 23nd March 2008 (about 2 weeks), this gives us two weeks of database upgrade testing, and a free weekend to do some work on the production environment in preparation for the release.
We will be refreshing Code Spaces today with several bug fixes and new features.
I thought i would take this opportunity to give you all a sneak at the new dashboard with Project Milestone integration.
Notice that the timeline now shows icons for specific project events like subversion commit, Work Item status changes and Project Milestones.
The recent subversion commits module allows for easy navigation to the repository browser or the revision viewer.

We installed the open ssl build of apache on our SVN cluster today and deployed the SSL cert, which means we now offer subversion over SSL to all users as standard.
To make use of the SSL layer simply use https instead of the http protocol that you have been using to date for your subversion server (e.g. https://svn.codespaces.com/[your_domain]/[your_repository])
We were originally only going to offer SSL to higher end customers but thankfully we came to our senses and realized that everybody needs SSL for transferring code…

We had an issue yesterday with the Subversion repositories not being created.
This has now been resolved and all subversion repositories created during this period are now active.

Yesterday we recieved our 200th user registration, which is absolutly amazing, given that this Beta is only a week old.
The application has had a few tweaks over the last 2 days to improve performace, however the major updates will happen over the weekend including:

I finally managed to iron out all the deployment issues and get the Code Spaces Beta onto our servers last night.
To date I have recieved 146 requests for Beta accounts which I have to say is (a lot) more than I expected, As a result its taking me a while to set them all up. I created about 15 accounts last night and will do some more today, but I will also implement a website at www.codespaces.com where you can create your own accounts (either today or tomorrow).
This Beta release is far from being the complete product but it’s definatly usable. The following features did not make this release but will be implemented shortly.
Please let me know if you can think of any further issues, or features and i will add them to the ever growing Todo List.
